Hey there. I am Kim and I love to draw. I received my first Bachelors Degree, a BA in Psychology, at the University of Richmond in Virginia. While there I also earned a Minor in Studio Arts and decided that Art School was the next step for me. I moved to Denver, CO and attended Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design as a Graphic Design Major. However, I quickly found that Illustration was my true love and changed my major. I graduated in December of 2004 with my BFA and am junst now venturing into the world as a Freelance Illustrator. Needless to say it has taken me a few years to believe in my abilities.
Oh, and I moved back to North Carolina where my older sister is pushing me to use my talents...She thinks because she has a BFA in Interior Design that she knows it all.
Although I've put my pen down for the last six years I have done a few commission pieces, mostly Christmas cards for friends and family. I would love for someone to pay me to draw all day long.
My biggest influences have been Arthur Rackham, Edmund Dulac, Howard Pyle, Maxfield Parrish, and Graeme Base, although my style is nothing like any of them. To view samples of my work visit this happy place http://www.kimberlybower.com/
